#OpenSelection is the campaign to allow Labour members to select and reselect their parliamentary candidates democratically.  It's also been called Mandatory Reselection.

One Member One Vote has given the Labour Party new hope and renewed confidence, with a bold new leadership and manifesto - For the Many, Not the Few.

Our rule change motion to the 2018 Labour Conference takes the next step, to replace the clumsy, complicated and conflict-ridden ‘trigger ballot’ with a simple democratic vote among local Labour members on who should stand as their parliamentary candidate.

We were unsuccessful last year, despite overwhelming support from CLP delegates. If nothing is done the issue cannot be raised for another 3 years. We don't want that.

To this end we want supporters to persuade Labour Parties and Trade Union branches to take up our original demand - Open Selection, not trigger ballots, and to press the NEC to accept this now, not in 3 years' time. You will find a model motion on this site and a petition to sign if you are a Labour Party individual or affiliated member

To win next time the Open Selection campaign needs to reach out to the broader Labour movement, to build on the momentum demonstrated.  To this end we are looking to form a new steering committee to include UK based advocates (individuals, or from supporting organisations) to coordinate the lobbying effort.

If you haven't done so yet, please sign as a supporter

If you already a supporter please volunteer and consider becoming part of a new steering committee that is more reflective of the greater Labour movement.

We need your help!
